Founded in 1928, Anchorage Yacht Club has been bringing together sailors, boaters, and friends of the water for nearly a century. For more than twenty years the club has operated from Waukegan Harbor, where our members enjoy an active social and racing calendar along with a strong sense of camaraderie and tradition.
Today the club has over 100 members, including more than 70 members with slips at Waukegan Marina, making Anchorage Yacht Club one of the most active boating communities on the harbor.
Whether you are an experienced sailor, a power boater, or someone who simply enjoys being part of a vibrant marina community, Anchorage Yacht Club offers a welcoming environment built around boating, friendship, and shared experiences on the water.

Anchorage Yacht Club welcomes new members who share our enthusiasm for boating and our commitment to maintaining a friendly and active club community.
If after reviewing the information on this site you would like to apply for membership, please visit the Membership Application page and submit the completed form to membership@aycchicago.org.
All applicants must be sponsored by two current Anchorage Yacht Club members in good standing.
If you already know an AYC member, please include their name with your application and we will reach out to them regarding sponsorship. If you do not currently know any members, you are still encouraged to submit your application. With more than 100 members in the club, there is a good chance that you may already know someone who belongs to Anchorage Yacht Club, and we are often able to help connect applicants with sponsors.
Once sponsorship has been secured, your application will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. Admission to membership requires approval by at least 75% of the Board. Upon approval, you will receive an invitation to join along with instructions for completing your membership and receiving your membership card.
Anchorage Yacht Club has thrived for nearly a century thanks to the enthusiasm and involvement of its members. We are always pleased to welcome new boaters who want to become part of our community at Waukegan Marina.
